Even if the skills you have or the vision you have are not listed here, we can help you achieve
your ambition to do something significant and worthwhile.
We have a request for people who can
Knit, sew or do woodwork
to make scarves, bags and small wooden toys for the shoebox appeal.
If you are a keen craft person who would like to use your hobby and free time to make an impact then we have patterns you can use
which will bring great joy to children in the poorest countries.

You can go and help on a team refurbishing the Children's hospital, or building a new caring facility.
You can join a team going to work on a children's camp.
You can support people going on one of the teams.
You can help us collect clothes for young women, especially maternity clothes.
You can bake for the weekly bun sale, raising money for nappies etc., at the Baptist Church (after the 10.30 morning service)
You can organise your own fundraising event for the fund, either as a one off, or regularly through your own group, club or pub.
At the annual Shoebox appeal in November there is a need for people to help check the boxes.
The gifts which people send are wonderful and provide a great Christmas gift for the children who receive them,
but every one needs to be checked to ensure that nothing unsafe slips through by mistake.
We work in three hour shifts, 10.00 until 1.00 and 6.00 until 9.00. The work is addictive, in a happy atmosphere and
includes some moments of tearful delight.
The toddler groups in the village need helpers, to make tea and coffee, or to set up and clear up.
The Clayton Live at Home scheme has opportunities to help make an impact on older peoples lives.
Young people need encouragement, understanding and inspiration.
They need people who will listen to them and treat them as adults.
Scout and Guide groups, youth activities and sports organisations are always willing to
help you use your skills in an appropriate way.
